Job Summary
Develop, test, deploy, and operate software for distributed research environments using OpenShift, OpenStack, and tools like Vault and Ansible. Monitor and troubleshoot systems in research environments such as the Mass Open Cloud Alliance and university computing centers. Contribute to open-source projects and work with researchers to design, train, and optimize AI software with Machine Learning for LLMs and visual models. Participate in student-oriented development activities, including hackathons, tutorials, and mentoring independent student projects. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and experience with distributed software, Linux, and Agile processes. Salary range is $110,940 - $177,280/year. Telecommuting permitted within commuting distance of the Red Hat office in Boston, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- software development experience with multiple programming languages
- distributed software development, including containers
- software design and implementation, including significant open-source contributions to projects with teams of developers and system engineers
- AI models, measurement and optimization, including primary responsibility for designing and deploying varied models
- using and maintaining Linux including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- developing and releasing software using Agile processes with a distributed team
- development tools, repositories and CI/CD platforms
- working as a primary advisor for users and design engineers in a research or production computing environment
- work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Boston, MA
