Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain a high-performance cross-platform AI chat application for iOS and Android using React Native. Build responsive UI components for streaming text, voice input, and animations while integrating real-time APIs, offline support, and local data persistence. Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product teams to ship features that impact user interaction, ensuring security, performance, and smooth cross-platform debugging.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 1.5+ years of hands-on React Native experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
- Deep understanding of React Native, React Hooks, and modern React patterns
- Experience building chat or real-time messaging UIs (or similar complex list/scroll-heavy interfaces)
- Experience integrating REST APIs and real-time data (SSE, WebSocket, or similar)
- Solid experience with React Navigation and deep linking
- Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar)
- Understanding of local persistence and offline-first patterns
- Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative workflows (branches, PRs, code reviews)
- Experience with npm or Yarn for dependency management
- Good understanding of Android and iOS application lifecycle, permissions, and platform-specific configurations
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across both platforms
- Ability to work collaboratively in an agile development environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience publishing applications to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store (including handling store reviews, signing, and provisioning)
- Knowledge of native Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) development for writing custom native modules or bridging
- Experience with push notifications, analytics, and mobile security best practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile application deployment (e.g., Fastlane, EAS, GitHub Actions)
- Experience writing unit and integration tests (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox)
- Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts — chat completion APIs, streaming tokens, prompt handling, or similar
- Experience with animation libraries (React Native Reanimated, Gesture Handler, Lottie)
- Experience with Firebase services (Crashlytics, FCM, Analytics, Remote Config)
- Experience with Expo (EAS Build, OTA updates) or bare React Native CLI workflows
