Job Summary
Design and implement reusable automated-testing scaffolding for data pipelines and products, integrating quality checks into CI/CD workflows. Contribute to engineering standards, quality gates, and tooling that enables teams to validate their own work effectively. Review implemented guardrails based on evidence and feedback, then provide hands-on implementation or coaching where needed. Participate in broader quality practices to share learnings across delivery teams.
Required Qualifications
- Working proficiency in Python, including debugging code, writing automated tests, and using technical documentation effectively
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including understanding of data pipelines, transformation workflows, and the ways data can become incomplete, inconsistent, stale, duplicated, or incorrectly transformed
- Understanding of test architecture and different layers like unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end, and experience integrating automated them into CI/CD workflows
- Professional proficiency in English
- Valid work permit
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with data-intensive, distributed, or platform-oriented systems
- Experience with Databricks or another modern data platform
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform
- Experience with data contracts, schema validation, pipeline observability, or data-quality tooling
- Experience enabling engineering teams to own and maintain automated tests rather than creating a permanent dependency on a separate testing function
- Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tooling or the validation of AI-generated outputs
