Job Summary
Software Engineer, Private Computing at OpenAI to design, build, and scale privacy features and infrastructure across ChatGPT, API, and future consumer devices. Responsibilities include shipping fast while balancing trade-offs, building core abstractions for trusted execution environments and end-to-end encryption, developing product features for private inference and storage, updating build systems to increase trust and verifiability, integrating with safety and integrity infrastructure, and operating systems at scale with high reliability (including on-call rotation). Ideal candidates care deeply about user privacy and security, have 5+ years of experience, experience with confidential computing or encryption in production, and experience with Kubernetes and cloud orchestration; strong collaboration and adaptability are valued. Location is San Francisco, CA with a hybrid model (4 days in the office) and relocation assistance is offered.
Required Qualifications
