Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software applications supporting mission-critical systems at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. Implement new features and enhance existing capabilities using modern Java frameworks while troubleshooting defects and performance issues across development, test, and operational environments. Create and maintain technical documentation and test procedures for these systems. This role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and CI polygraph, with a secondary level option for candidates with additional experience. The position supports multiple networks and environments within a collaborative team of software, systems, network, and storage engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
- Master's degree in a STEM discipline
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
- Active Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph
- Minimum of three years' experience in developing software in Java (e.g., core Java, JEE, Spring, or similar frameworks)
- Experience with object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms
- Ability to work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), following all applicable security and handling procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team
- 10% of the Time travel
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience integrating Java applications with RESTful services, message queues, and/or microservices architectures
- Experience with additional programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with security compliance, secure coding practices, and related security scanning tools
