Job Summary
Own the infrastructure, database, and backend services layer across our product suite. Collaborate with the founder on technical direction and architectural decisions. Responsibilities include: managing the Azure Government environment end-to-end (networking, compute, CDN, DNS, secrets management, bastion access) and cost right-sizing; maintaining security posture (network segmentation, IAM, encryption); building and operating the deployment and observability stack; writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code across dev/prod; building and operating CI/CD pipelines from source to production; driving monitoring, alerting, and observability; owning the PostgreSQL database layer (schema evolution, performance, connection management, multi-tenant row-level security) and migration strategy; implementing backup, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery; managing backend services and containerized infrastructure (Node.js API services and background workers); owning authentication, file storage, caching, and secrets management. Qualifications emphasize deep PostgreSQL expertise, Terraform production modules, Azure (incl. Azure Government), Node.js/TypeScript, CI/CD, and security/compliance awareness (FedRAMP/CMMC). ITAR US-person restriction applies.
Required Qualifications
- Deep PostgreSQL experience including execution plans, index selection, vacuum behavior, connection pooling, and row-level security
- Terraform proficiency with production modules
- Azure experience including container orchestration, managed databases, virtual networking, and identity services; Azure Government experience a plus
- Node.js / TypeScript experience with API routes, async patterns, and production debugging
- CI/CD fluency with automated pipelines, container builds, rolling deployments, and migration automation
- Security awareness including network segmentation, least-privilege access, encryption requirements, and knowledge of CMMC/FedRAMP controls
