Job Summary

Develop and maintain backend services using C# and ASP.NET Core while building responsive front-end components with React and JavaScript. Implement RESTful APIs, write maintainable object-oriented code, and create SQL queries to support application features. Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and sprint ceremonies, collaborating with QA, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions. Assist with release and deployment activities, investigate application issues, and contribute to technical documentation. Use GitHub Copilot in alignment with development standards and demonstrate Agile development methodology skills. Work within a multidisciplinary team environment to contribute to design discussions and technical decision-making under senior guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must reside and be able to work from the following state: WA
  • Must reside within commuting distance of our office headquarters in Seattle
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Information Technology or related technical program)
  • 1–2 years of software development experience
  • 1-2 years' experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI powered coding assistants
  • Working knowledge of C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming concepts
  • Exposure to ASP.NET Core MVC or .NET Web API development
  • Experience developing front-end features using React and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server architecture
  • Foundational SQL skills, including writing and debugging queries
  • Hands on experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative workflows
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge of OOP, design fundamentals, and clean coding principles
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to contribute to development practices, design discussions, and technical decision-making with guidance from senior engineers
  • Consistent focus on performance, security, scalability, and code quality
  • Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools—such as GitHub Copilot
  • Demonstrated ability to regularly communicate complex technical issues, solutions and designs to a wide variety of audiences, from Project Management to developer to desk level user
  • Skilled proficiency using an Agile development methodology (Extreme Programming)
  • Beginner proficiency with software development according to Agile principles
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative, team environment

Desired Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience who is ready to contribute to full-stack feature delivery in a collaborative, quality-focused engineering environment
  • The Software Engineer will work across front-end, back-end, and data layers
  • Participate in technical discussions
  • Apply established development standards under the guidance of senior team members

  • Use GitHub Copilot in alignment with PEMCO development and security standards
