Software Engineer, Payments at Stripe: Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams; own end-to-end problems using a wide range of systems and technologies; collaborate with global engineering teams; uphold high engineering standards and improve tooling and processes; work with customers to understand challenges and translate them into scalable, elegant solutions across financial payments platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 3-12+ years of professional software development experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field involving coding (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
- Worked on projects which have involved multiple engineering teams
- Empathy, strong communication skills and a deep respect for the power of collaboration
- A learning mindset, regardless of level or experience
- The ability to drive clear next steps when encountering ambiguous spaces without clear lines of ownership
- High standards for code quality and a constructive attitude to help others raise the bar
- An ability to think creatively and holistically about reducing risk in a complex environment
- Have experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets
- User facing or cross functional roles where you shaped the product’s roadmap and solutions to solve user needs
