Job Summary
Architect and develop Packet Forwarding Features for PTX Series Routers, including IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, Multicast, GRE, LAG, and Tunneling. Work with Product Line Managers to translate requirements into implementation and collaborate with Test Teams to qualify and deliver high-quality products. Engage with customers and participate in industry forums while sustaining existing features. This Senior Staff Engineer role supports the global edge-to-cloud company's PTX Series Routers Packet Forwarding team, which deploys software across high-performance routers driving the largest public Cloud, Service Provider, and Mobile networks. The position requires a hybrid schedule with an average of 2 days per week in an HPE office.
Required Qualifications
- Hybrid work arrangement (average 2 days per week from an HPE office)
- Minimum of BS in CS/EE
- 6 years of work experience
- At least 6 years of experience with 'C' Programming
- At least 2 years of experience with 'C++' Programming
- Strong fundamental computer science skills like algorithms, data structures, operating systems
- Hands on experience in Linux
- Hands on experience in Python
- Team player mindset
