Job Summary
Build the next-gen stack for resilient, decentralized search with a truly peer-to-peer architecture containing no centralized index. Develop high-performance, highly concurrent networking code using the Holepunch stack, including hyperdht, hyperswarm, hypercore, hyperbee, hyperdrive, and udx-native. Implement distributed indexing solutions leveraging Kademlia DHT, skip graphs, prefix hash trees, and locality sensitive hashing. Optimize network protocols for TCP/IP reliability, NAT traversal, and encryption while evaluating search engine architecture for recall and precision.
Required Qualifications
- Kademlia DHT
- Distributed indexing and the relevant research literature: skip graphs, prefix hash trees, m-LIGHT, locality sensitive hashing
- Distributed databases and CRDTs
- Networking for P2P: TCP/IP, transport-layer connection orientation and reliability models, multiplexing, NAT traversal, encryption
- Classical IR topics and search engine architecture: recall vs. precision, ranking algorithms, lexical vs. semantic search, inverted indices, etc
- Network protocol testing, evaluation, and optimization
- Writing high performance, highly concurrent networking code
- The Holepunch stack: hyperdht, hyperswarm, hypercore, hyperbee, hyperdrive, udx-native
