Job Summary
Develop and maintain network systems features using C, C++, and Python, while building automated tests and contributing to design specifications. Collaborate with hardware engineers to design control interfaces for managing components like FPGAs, NICs, and storage devices, and work with manufacturing teams to bring new hardware to market. Analyze and fix problems in customer networks by partnering with support engineers and system test teams, then mentor junior engineers on the development environment. Own projects from definition through deployment, ensuring scalability and performance across the full lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience
- MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 2 year experience
- Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering +1 year experience
- equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of C or C++ and Python
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
- Experience working with low level hardware components
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design a solution and implement features independently
- Ability to work in small teams
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus
