Software Engineer (.Net)

Job Summary
Develop and maintain enterprise web applications, APIs, and database solutions supporting critical financial transparency systems using C#, ASP.NET Core, and SQL Server. Design REST APIs, optimize stored procedures, and troubleshoot application issues within an Agile environment. Collaborate with Business Analysts and QA teams while participating in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipeline deployments. Support production releases and system modernization efforts for the NYC Checkbook program. This role requires 3-6 years of .NET experience and is based in a hybrid schedule with two days in the Sterling, VA office.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in .NET application development
- C#
- ASP.NET Core / MVC
- .NET 6/8
- SQL Server
- Entity Framework and/or Dapper
- REST API development
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile methodologies
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week at REI Systems' Sterling, VA office
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree preferred
- Experience with Azure cloud services and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Knowledge of OAuth2/JWT authentication and application security
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment tools
- Experience supporting government or public-sector applications
- Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is preferred
