Job Summary
Software Engineer role within NBCUniversal’s Content Delivery Engineering team in NYC/US with a focus on delivering high-quality VOD, live event, and linear streaming experiences at scale. Develop and maintain software systems in Go and/or Python, contribute to video content delivery pipelines, implement CI/CD and code/configuration changes, draft design documents, collaborate through code/design reviews, and work with SRE to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Utilize cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), observability and analytics to surface issues and drive improvements. Engage in agile workflows, prioritize multiple tasks, and communicate effectively across teams and nationalities. Knowledge of CDNs and streaming media is advantageous, and AI tooling for code-related workflows is relevant. Hybrid schedule requires in-office presence four days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field is required
- 3+ years of software development experience, with expertise in Go and/or Python
- Proficiency with deploying software to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) using containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with software repositories, CI/CD pipelines and test automation
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices for ensuring scalability and reliability in cloud environments
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Strong communication skills across diverse nationalities
- Knowledge/production exposure to using CDNs to deliver streaming media is advantageous
- Experience with AI tooling for code creation, reviews, testing and related software development workflows
- Hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirement four days per week
