Job Summary
Connect customers to maintenance shops and facilitate service, approvals, transactions, and billing for fleets by writing maintainable code and implementing new features. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to plan, design, and build out the Marketplace offering while researching prototypes to validate technical feasibility. Deliver well-tested, performant code and thoroughly review peers' work to ensure quality and consistency. This role reports to the Web Engineering Manager and focuses on two-sided marketplace solutions, shop integrations, and payment processing within Fleetio's comprehensive platform.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or Typescript
- A firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
- Solid experience solving challenging architecture problems with good design
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills (particularly written)
- An eye for detail and quality, and the ability to make tradeoffs
Desired Qualifications
- Expertise with data modeling and optimizing query performance
- Experience leading small teams/projects
- You know a thing or two about the fleet management industry
- Previous experience building APIs for consumer/mobile app consumption
- Previous experience integrating external APIs
- Previous experience building two-sided marketplace solutions
