Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems by coding new features, modifying existing code, and integrating software into new operating environments. Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance specifications, then develop algorithms that meet system standards while debugging defects. Write or review documentation to ensure process compliance and mentor development teams to adhere to development constraints. Leverage expert-level Java proficiency to build backend solutions that satisfy functional and performance needs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 20+ years of experience and active TS/SCI clearance. Located in Fort Meade, MD.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 20+ years of software engineering experience
- Four years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
- Expert-level proficiency with backend software development using Java
- Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in situations involving frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing and deploying backend applications within cloud environments
