Software Engineer

Job Summary
Design, code, integrate, test, and debug game software for charitable games. Collaborate with artists, animators, and game designers to deliver a polished gaming experience. Demonstrate understanding of platform hardware, libraries, and operating systems; provide input on game design and scheduling related to software implementation; communicate technical requirements to team members; contribute to in-house tools and engineering support; maintain up-to-date knowledge of new programming methods and technologies. Requires 2-5 years in a software development team, 2D/3D game programming (Godot preferred), proficiency in C#, C++, or TypeScript, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. On-site presence in Raleigh, NC four days per week. Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional experience in a software development team
- 2D and 3D game programming experience (Godot experience is preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in C#, C++, or TypeScript
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design concepts
- Experience with software development tools (IDEs/compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control)
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Experience in the gaming industry preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain and update documentation related to features and interfaces
- Knowledge of QA processes and collaboration with QA engineers
- Ability to learn new programming methods and technologies
