Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM while analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical specifications. Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of mission-critical applications, then collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to mainframe applications, participate in code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development.
Required Qualifications
- Mainframe COBOL Developer
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and VSAM
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of mainframe applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and project managers
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to mainframe applications
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development
- Operating systems: IBM z/OS, AIX, Linux (Red Hat), Windows, Mainframe
- COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, Easytrieve, Endevor, CA7, Control M, BMC AMI DevX
- Relational databases: DB2, Oracle
- Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree
- 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
- Must be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Cleveland, OH, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, or Birmingham, AL
- PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position
