Job Summary
Lead Consultant Software Engineer responsible for architecting and delivering large-scale, cloud-native microservices at Allstate. Owns design, implementation, testing, and production support of digital products, drives KPI-driven outcomes, and mentors teams in paired programming and test-driven development. Collaborates with product managers and stakeholders, leads CI/CD and deployment pipelines, and applies secure-by-design practices across REST APIs, microservices, and AI/ML workflows. Requires extensive experience with Java Spring Boot, distributed systems, Kafka, Kubernetes, API security (OAuth/OpenID/SAML), Agile practices, and hands-on work with AI/LLM integrations and RAG pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or related roles
- Experience with Java Spring Boot, REST APIs, and API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices
- Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, caching, and data pipelines
- Strong security design experience (OAuth/OpenID/SAML) and risk mitigation
- Proficiency in CI/CD, DevOps, automated pipelines, and platform engineering
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems
- Experience with AI/ML workflows and Python for automation
- Experience with version control (Git), build tools (Maven/Gradle), and CI tools (Jenkins)
- Experience with Agile methodologies and paired programming/Test-Driven Development
- Familiarity with LangGraph/AutoGen, RAG pipelines, and vector databases
- Knowledge of observability (OpenTelemetry) and performance engineering
- Experience delivering production-grade AI platforms and LM orchestration
