Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka to enable seamless communication across platforms. Lead a team of mid-level to senior developers while defining API contracts, documentation, and security standards including OAuth2 and JWT. Integrate services with databases and third-party systems, optimize performance, and enforce coding standards through code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional and DevOps teams to manage CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and deployment troubleshooting. Based in Dallas, TX, Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, or Birmingham, AL, this role requires 3+ years of experience in API development and microservices architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in API development (Java 8/17/21, Spring Boot, Kafka)
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of API security and lifecycle management
- Experience with Oracle and MySQL databases
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
- Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud platform familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with API gateways
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture
