Job Summary
Interface with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to design and manage innovative Layer1 features. Develop and maintain functionality using C, C++ and Python, while building automated tests and test infrastructure. Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new components like Phys and Transceivers to market, and work with System Test Engineers to analyze and fix problems. Provide technical leadership across features and tools, and mentor junior engineers. Own projects from definition to deployment, ensuring quality and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 2 years experience, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 1 years experience, or equivalent work experience
- Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design a solution and implement features independently
- Ability to work in small teams
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of digital communication technologies like modulation and signal encoding schemes
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems
- Experience working with low level hardware components
