Job Summary
The Software Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design and development of functionality and services common across all Lancope products. Key responsibilities include designing, documenting, and implementing complex engineering solutions, supporting and extending existing design and architecture patterns, automating processes, mentoring other engineers, troubleshooting and fixing defects, and evaluating product requirements. The role demands at least 4 years of experience in software development with expertise in Java, C/C++, Python, and Linux, as well as solid knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and virtualization technologies.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of software development using Java, C/C++, and Python
- At least 4 years of experience of Linux development
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and tools
- Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, and Xen
- Success in an Agile Scrum environment in support of a continuous product delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with solving complex design problems around large data sets
- Some Scala experience preferred
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker a plus
- Experience with government certifications (e.g., UC APL, Common Criteria) desired
- Familiarity with Network Security or Information Technology domain space
