Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer (P3) on the Twilio Segment team. Build and scale data ingestion and processing systems that handle hundreds of thousands of data points per second. Design robust, high-scale routing experiences for Data Pipelines; operate always-available distributed systems in cloud environments; collaborate cross-functionally to balance usability, performance, and architecture; mentor junior engineers; participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and improve reliability. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Engineering, 5-7 years of production-grade coding experience, and proficiency in Go, Java, or Python, plus cloud and CI/CD experience. Desirable: Kubernetes/EKS/ECS, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Docker, AI tooling, and distributed-system expertise. Location: Remote in India (Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, TamilNadu); travel to participate in in-person meetings occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging/streaming systems and processing engines (several thousand events/sec).
- 5-7 years experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
- Proficient programming experience in Go, Java, Python or similar object-oriented languages.
- Experience operating large-scale, distributed systems on top of cloud infrastructure.
- Experience shipping services (products) following CI/CD development paradigm.
- Good grasp of software engineering and how to build a system in scalable and extensive manner;
- Leverage best-in-class development productivity practices including AI tooling.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
