Software Engineer – Kernel & Networking

Job Summary
Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for subsystems of systems software, including networking, utilities, and Internet-related tools. Analyze design requirements to determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on overall product architecture. Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation while identifying and debugging code issues. Lead a project team of software systems engineers and development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with management and partners on design status, project progress, and issue resolution. Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Typically 2-5 years experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Mastery in English and local language
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
- Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages – C/C++
- System programming, Kernel development experience with knowledge of Linux/FreeBSD Unix
- Networking and protocol knowledge
- TCP/UDP/SCTP protocols knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Designing software systems running on multiple platform types
- Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
- Hybrid work arrangement with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office
Desired Qualifications
- TCP/UDP/SCTP protocols knowledge is good to have
