Job Summary
Software Engineer Intern will participate in research, design, development, and testing of software applications across multiple systems. You will understand customer and operational requirements and implement new functionality, develop unit tests, and document complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE and proficiency in Python, Java, HTML, and JavaScript, plus experience with SDLC, Windows and Linux APIs, and client/server architectures. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a small team with minimal supervision. The internship includes mentorship, hands-on project work, and potential pathways to full-time roles; citizenship may be required for security clearance. Pay range is $30-$38 per hour, with compensation calculated annually for internship status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with software development lifecycle and use of associated tools
- Proficient in Python, Java, HTML, and Javascript
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux System API and ABI
- Experience developing client/server network architectures
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems
