Job Summary
Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia focusing on AI-assisted quality engineering. You’ll design, execute, and maintain automated test coverage across web and mobile platforms, perform manual/exploratory/functional/regression testing, and drive defect management and release support. The role emphasizes building scalable QA methodologies, leveraging AI-powered tools to improve testing workflows, mentoring teammates, and collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to deliver high-quality software. The position supports a fully remote option within Mexico or a hybrid arrangement in Mexico City (Reforma-area office), with opportunities to shape QA strategy, testing automation, and overall product quality.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of QA, SDET, or software testing roles
- Programming knowledge (python, javascript or any programming language)
- Strong understanding of API, integration, and distributed systems testing
- Experience designing scalable, maintainable automation frameworks and test strategies for modern web applications using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Gherkin
- UI automation testing experience using Python or JavaScript
- Experience using AI-powered engineering tools such as Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar technologies to improve productivity and testing workflows
- Experience mentoring teammates or serving as a QA thought partner preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and tools such as Git, Jenkins, or similar platforms
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- English proficiency (written and verbal) required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
