Job Summary
Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase hired into the Consumer Card Technology team will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted, scalable technology solutions. Core duties include installing, configuring, and maintaining Unix/Linux servers; managing Ab Initio applications; deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Docker containers across development, test, and production; monitoring performance and optimizing resources; performing OS patches, backups, and upgrades; automating administrative tasks with shell scripting; providing technical end-user and application-team support; enabling and supporting CI/CD pipelines and disaster-recovery planning; documenting configurations and procedures; and contributing to communities of practice with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and security.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 3+ years of applied experience in software engineering
- Unix/Linux System Administrator experience with strong proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Solaris, AIX)
- Experience with Ab Initio installation, configuration, and support
- Hands-on experience with Docker containerization
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python)
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols with strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD
- Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
