Job Summary
Software Engineer III at Fortanix will design, develop, and maintain observability features for our cloud security platform, optimize the observability infrastructure to handle large data volumes, and collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate customer requirements into technical solutions. The role involves contributing to code reviews, improving software development processes, and applying observability concepts (monitoring, logging, distributed tracing) within a hybrid multicloud environment. The position requires backend development expertise, proficiency in Rust (or similar languages like Go, Java, or C++), and experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork are essential, with an expectation to work effectively both independently and in a team to advance Fortanix’s data security initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong backend development experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Rust, Go, Java or C++
- Experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
