Job Summary
Software Engineer III - RIS Test role onsite at an HPE office, focused on developing, executing, and automating complex BRAS-domain feature test plans. Responsibilities include reviewing MRDs/PDDs and functional specs, ensuring test coverage alignment with product requirements, collaborating with Technical Publications and Product Management to validate deployment scenarios, supporting Beta teams, troubleshooting customer escalations, mentoring teammates, and contributing to automation and GenAI-based testing improvements. Requires 5–8 years in product/system testing within BRAS/EVPN domains, strong networking knowledge (OSI/TCP/IP), hands-on experience with PPP/PPPoE/DHCP/HTTP/RADIUS/L2TP/IGMP/GRE/802.3ad, familiarity with IS-IS/OSPF/BGP (EVPN), QoS, MPLS/VPLS, EVPN-VXLAN/MPLS, ESI-LAG/EVPN-MH, DCI, L2VNI/L3VNI/VRF, and CUPS; automation proficiency in Python and Robot Framework; GenAI exposure is a plus; strong debugging, communication, and multitasking abilities; BE/ME/MCA in CS or related field.
Required Qualifications
- BE/ME/MCA in Computer Science or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in product/system testing (BRAS, EVPN, or related domains)
- Strong understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP protocols
- Hands-on experience with PPP, PPPoE, DHCP, HTTP, RADIUS, L2TP, IGMP, GRE, 802.3ad
- Experience with IS-IS, OSPF, BGP (including EVPN Control Plane)
- QoS, Multicast, MPLS, VPLS
- EVPN-VXLAN / EVPN-MPLS
- ESI-LAG / EVPN-MH, DCI, L2VNI, L3VNI, VRF
- Exposure to CUPS architecture
- Automation skills in Python, Robot Framework
- GenAI-based automation a plus
- Test tools experience: Ixia, Spirent
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in feature delivery
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
