Job Summary
Software Engineer III leads design, development, and operation of Nike Cloud Infra Engineering platforms; focuses on building platform solutions for managing Nike’s multi-cloud ecosystem, leading by example to design, develop, operate, and integrate cloud infrastructure solutions, and driving organizational technical priorities. Collaborates with peers and stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions, mentors junior team members, and defines engineering best practices across cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field or relevant professional experience
- Minimum 4-7 years of software engineering experience with a focus on cloud infrastructure engineering in a multi-cloud ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud; AWS preferred)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Control Plane architecture, Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), and auto scaling of Kubernetes clusters (Karpenter or related tools)
- Crossplane experience is a plus
- Experience building observability solutions with Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Cortex, Thanos
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, JavaScript
- Experience implementing modern software architectural principles (REST, domain-driven design, DevOps, microservices)
- Experience with AI, Machine Learning, GenAI and related data solutions (A2A and MCP protocols preferred)
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide junior cloud engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work within Nike's Global Technology organization and Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team
