Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer role on Nike’s Geographies & Marketplace Experiences team. You will own end-to-end development of high-throughput, cloud-native microservices and frontend apps that power consumer product information across Nike experiences. Responsibilities include designing and delivering backend cloud services and frontend components, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and DevOps activities, ensuring observability and reliability with tools like Splunk and SignalFx, and leveraging GenAI-powered capabilities to accelerate development. Technologies emphasized include Java/Spring Boot/React/ Express.js/Node.js, AWS/GCE/Azure, NoSQL and relational databases, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices (TDD, agile/Scrum, observability, and release readiness). Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with 7+ years in software development and a strong track record in full-stack development, microservices, cloud environments, and collaborative team delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years software development experience
- Experience as a Full Stack Developer with Express.js, React, Node.js or Java Full Stack: Java, Spring Boot, React, MySQL/PostgreSQL
- Experience in a distributed/cloud-based environment (AWS, GCE, Azure)
- Experience in microservices architecture, domain driven design, RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot
- Ability to independently drive end-to-end project execution including design, development, coordination and delivery
- Demonstrated experience with Test Driven development (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Playwright)
- Experience with observability/monitoring tools (NewRelic, Splunk, SignalFx, Kibana/Grafana)
- Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and relational stores (MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins) and GitHub workflows
- Experience delivering Generative AI–based solutions or projects
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with agile (Scrum) practices
- Experience with AI-powered developer tools and DevOps practices
