Job Summary
Own delivery of complex UI features using React and TypeScript, aligned to a design system and front-end engineering standards. Lead UI technical design for component architecture, state management, and API integration patterns while documenting key decisions. Drive quality through automated testing, accessibility compliance, and performance optimization, and build CI/CD pipelines to reduce flaky tests. Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to accelerate refactoring and test generation with rigorous human validation. Produce architecture artifacts for complex applications and analyze large data sets to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture. This role supports the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING business functions within JPMorganChase's agile team, requiring 3+ years of applied experience and proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Playwright.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 3+ years applied experience
- Strong hands-on experience building enterprise web applications with React + TypeScript
- Strong experience with UI testing (e.g., Jest/React Testing Library and Cypress/Playwright)
- Proven experience designing and delivering accessible, performant UIs
- Proven experience implementing and improving CI/CD for front-end applications
- Disciplined experience using AI coding assistants (Claude AI or equivalent where approved)
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with design systems at scale
- Experience with modern UI architecture patterns (micro-frontends/module federation, SSR frameworks such as Next.js, BFF patterns)
- Experience with web observability (RUM, client logging, correlation with backend signals) and feature-flag driven delivery
- Track record reducing defect escape and flaky tests, improving release confidence and developer productivity
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives within a squad or across teams
