Job Summary

Software Engineer III on the JPMorganChase eTrading team develops and delivers secure, scalable market-leading software in a low-latency, production-focused environment. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions, working with traders and quants to capture requirements, optimizing pricing and execution strategies, building and maintaining exchange market data, execution gateway, and eTrading applications, evaluating execution strategies with Smart Order Router and dark pools, understanding pricing/hedging stacks, creating secure production code and architecture artifacts, improving coding hygiene and system architecture, and contributing to technical communities. Required skills include formal software engineering training with 3+ years of hands-on experience, proficiency in C++ and Java, experience in large corporate development with modern languages and databases (KDB), familiarity with markets/eTrading tech, SDLC knowledge, and strong Agile/CI/CD, security, and cloud/machine learning capabilities. Preferred qualifications include a BS/MS in CS and experience with AI tools and Python.

Required Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced proficiency in coding C++, Java
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages, such as, KDB
  • Hands on experience within the Markets or eTrading technologies
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
