Job Summary
Software Engineer III on the Azure Cloud Identity team designs, implements, and manages Azure identity and access controls (including Azure RBAC, role definitions and assignments, and guardrails for least privilege) while embedding secure-by-design practices. The role focuses on cloud security, governance, and compliance, building and operating components such as Service Principals, Managed Identities, App Registrations, and Enterprise Applications; supporting workload identity federation; participating in IAM governance, audits, and control effectiveness reviews; delivering features in an agile environment with automation; and ensuring secure, scalable identities and access controls across Azure services (App Service, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, Functions, AKS) and related tooling. Preferred experience with additional clouds, SQL databases, Privileged Identity Management, containerization, IaC (Bicep/ARM), and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Proficiency with Azure services: Azure App Service, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC: Service Principals, Managed Identities, App Registrations, role management, and Conditional Access.
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML).
- Familiarity with serverless and event‐driven architectures using Azure services (e.g., Event Grid, Service Bus).
- Proficiency with Terraform and scripting in Python or Go.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on cross‐functional teams.
