Job Summary
Software Engineer III leading multi-team initiatives at JPMorganChase within Consumer and Community Banking - Data and Technology. Guides immediate teams of engineers on daily tasks, sets overall guidance for output and collaboration, anticipates cross-team dependencies to deliver data products aligned with business requirements, and ensures compliance with standards. Fosters diversity and inclusive representation within the team. Technical emphasis includes advanced Python development, PySpark, distributed data processing, ETL/ELT pipeline design, Airflow-based DAG orchestration, Glue/Athena/Lambda workflows, Terraform for infrastructure automation, data-lake concepts with Iceberg/Delta Lake, DBT macro and template usage, and robust source control/testing practices. Preferred exposure to Apache Flink, Snowflake components, CDC/incremental load designs, and container deployments (Docker). The role focuses on guiding teams to deliver compliant, scalable data-centric applications and platforms using AWS/PySpark/Python stack.
Required Qualifications
- Strong python development experience with modular coding, reusable classes, logging, and testing
- Familiarity with PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks
- Experience structuring multi-environment projects (dev/uat/prod)
- Proficiency in writing DBT macros, jinja templates, seeds, and custom test cases
- Ability to build and manage parameterized DAGs and manage task dependencies
- Experience with Airflow
- Proficiency with Glue jobs, Athena, CloudWatch, and Lambda
- Working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Understanding of Iceberg, Delta Lake and their role in data-lake architecture
- Designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with version control like GIT, testing frameworks, and code reviews
