Job Summary

Software Engineer III - Applied AI at JPMorgan Chase leads the development and deployment of advanced ML/AI solutions within a distributed international consumer bank context. Responsibilities include building and evaluating AI/ML models, architecting and deploying generative AI applications to automate business processes, translating strategic needs into technical solutions, analyzing large datasets for actionable insights, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure AI/ML production systems, staying current with AI advancements, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with stakeholders across product areas such as fraud prevention, identity services, money transfers, and core banking. Key skills include Python development with a focus on testing, TensorFlow/PyTorch ecosystem, MLOps across the full lifecycle, experience with AWS, and familiarity with deploying AI applications via cloud APIs such as OpenAI; strong communication and independent as well as collaborative work capabilities are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a STEM field (Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering)
  • Proven track record of AI/ML model development and deployment in a production environment; expertise in deploying models on AWS
  • Deep familiarity with MLOps practices across design, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, or Scikit-learn
  • Proficiency in Python with emphasis on code quality and reliability through testing
  • Extensive experience with generative AI models, primarily via cloud service APIs (e.g., OpenAI)
  • Experience with integrating user feedback to establish self-improving AI applications
  • Solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
