Job Summary
Software Engineer II on Zendesk's Engineering Productivity team in Pune, APAC, responsible for building and enhancing configuration-driven tooling and workflows that improve engineering productivity. Key duties include integrating GitHub provisioning with an Identity Provider, designing tools to detect and prevent CI/CD platform abuse and optimize cost, developing AI-driven solutions for code analysis, root-cause identification, and smart test prioritization, supporting RFCs with Security and stakeholders, and contributing to proactive monitoring and observability to reduce MTTR. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, staying current on Generative AI and MLOps trends, participating in design/code reviews, and delivering clean, maintainable code while following industry best practices. Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of industry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in AI concepts and building AI-enabled applications/tools
- Experience building and maintaining deployment pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Github Actions, Travis)
- Experience with one or more public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Crossplane, CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of containers and experience with Kubernetes & Docker
- Good understanding of DevOps practices with interest in MLOps
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or Ruby
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with proactive process improvement
- Willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly evolving AI landscape
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coordinating across time zones
- Hybrid work arrangement with some in-office presence
