Job Summary
Software Engineer II with responsibilities spanning design, development, and maintenance of backend services and data-processing workflows. Work involves building high-performance, scalable data access layers, implementing cloud-native services on container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, ECS), designing API contracts and inter-service communication patterns (REST, RPC, asynchronous messaging), creating CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI), and enhancing observability through metrics, structured logs, and distributed tracing. Collaborates with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into system designs with clear performance and reliability goals. The role requires experience with Java, Scala, or Python; Spark or similar large-scale data processing frameworks; and cloud/infrastructure concepts such as IAM and load balancers. Salary range is $151,400–$227,000 USD annually; telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance from the San Francisco, CA office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- at least one programming language (Java, Scala, or Python)
