Job Summary
Develop and document detailed solution designs for EDMO Data Catalog services, acting as an application subject matter expert through design and development. Build, test, and support complex application components, APIs, integrations, and data flows using approved cloud-native patterns and infrastructure-as-code concepts. Analyze technical requirements to recommend pragmatic engineering solutions and review deliverables to identify quality gaps and cross-release impacts. Leverage AI-assisted development tools within enterprise guardrails, validating generated code through peer review and automated testing before delivery. Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and engineering practices while maintaining productive relationships with internal technology partners and product stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Strong software engineering fundamentals across backend services, APIs, data modelling, testing and operational support
- Experience developing secure, maintainable code in Python
- Experience developing secure, maintainable code in modern languages and frameworks, preferably TypeScript / Node.js
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms
- Practical knowledge of cloud-native application patterns
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts
- Practical knowledge of containerized services
- Practical knowledge of observability
- Practical knowledge of secure deployment practices
- Working knowledge of CI/CD
- Working knowledge of automated testing
- Working knowledge of dependency management
- Working knowledge of observability
- Working knowledge of incident support
- Ability to translate requirements into technical designs, estimates, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical choices, risks and trade-offs to engineers and stakeholders
- Undergraduate degree, Postgraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
- 3-5+ years relevant experience

- Exposure to pandas for data analysis, profiling, transformation or automation use cases
- Familiarity with responsible use of coding copilots or AI-assisted developer workflows
