Job Summary
Software Engineer II responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, high-performance backend solutions in Java/Spring Boot for Security Services. Contributes to end-to-end software development, code reviews, debugging, and optimization of back-end applications for speed, reliability, and scalability. Collaborates with stakeholders, Leads and Architects on new products, drives adoption of best practices including CI/CD and AI integration, and supports operational stability and security. Requires hands-on Java 17+ with Spring Boot, Kafka, EKS, Python, SQL, and cloud-native experience, plus familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, EDA, and React.js integration. Tokyo-based, in-person role; strong emphasis on secure, scalable enterprise applications and a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- 3+ years of applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Proficient in coding in one or more object-oriented languages, including Java 17+ with Spring Boot
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Experience building enterprise applications with high availability and performance using Java, Spring, Kafka, EKS, Distributed Cache
- Practical cloud native experience
- Working knowledge of Python and SQL
Desired Qualifications
- Keen interest in staying ahead of modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning
- Hands-on experience with Microservices, Data usage patterns, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
- Experience with RESTful APIs concepts and its integration with React.js
- Business-level Japanese proficiency preferred
