Job Summary
Manage the full software development lifecycle for medical device enhancements and fixes within a Scrum team. Define and refine user stories, write clear Software Requirements Specifications using Gherkin and BDD, and design solutions to deliver customer value. Develop, refactor, and debug code while performing unit tests and code reviews. Execute verification activities by defining test strategies, developing automated tests, and raising or fixing defects. Contribute to engineering documentation and support delivery within a regulated environment. Participate in all Scrum events with responsible use of agentic AI throughout the SDLC. Report to the Software Engineering Manager in the R&D team located in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, as an on-site role.
Required Qualifications
- Software Engineering or Computer Science degree
- 6+ years of full SDLC experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex business and technical information
- Ability to communicate effectively to diverse stakeholders
- Expertise in writing clear, structured, and testable software specifications using Gherkin and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) practices
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Ability to critically assess AI tool outputs
- Experience with C#
- Experience with .Net Framework/.Net
- Experience with WCF
- Experience with REST
- Experience with Message Brokers
- Experience with gRPC
- Experience with Relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Experience with ORMs

- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with medical device software development standards, particularly IEC 62304
- Background in a regulated engineering environment (e.g. Aerospace, automotive etc.)
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, IIBA-AAC)
- Experience in requirements management
