Software Engineer II

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs that integrate with internal systems, mobile applications, and warehouse devices. Collaborate with front-end and mobile teams to deliver end-to-end features that enhance warehouse workflows. Ensure adherence to the software development lifecycle and best practices while designing, implementing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures against a large, distributed system. Create effective documentation for stored procedures, database logic, and APIs. Ensure scalable debugging, triage, monitoring, and defect resolution. Foster trust and accountability within the team, contributing positively to day-to-day activities. This role reports to the Sr Director, Engineering & QA - Evolve.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years experience managing, developing and scaling large scale back-end systems
- 2+ years of experience developing scalable backend services using Node.js
- Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedure development, and performance tuning in large transactional environments
Desired Qualifications
- TypeScript knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with message queues or event-driven architecture (Kafka preferred)
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture
