Job Summary
Lead design, build, and evolution of fullstack applications using React, TypeScript, Python, and Ruby while architecting scalable APIs and microservices on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Take ownership of complex features from design through production, drive architectural discussions, and mentor engineers through code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, privacy-compliant features aligned with regulations like GDPR, BIPA, and CCPA, while improving system reliability and observability. This mid-level Fullstack Software Engineer role joins the Signals Team in Lisbon, Portugal, focusing on identity verification, AML checks, and eKYC integrations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in fullstack or software engineering
- Strong proficiency in React/TypeScript and at least one backend language (Python, Kotlin, or Ruby)
- Proven experience designing and building distributed systems and scalable architectures
- Experience building and operating APIs and microservices in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of system design, performance, and reliability trade-offs
- Deep knowledge of software security principles and privacy-by-design approaches
- Experience working in agile environments with CI/CD practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, OpenID Connect)
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Ruby on Rails
- Understanding of privacy regulations and their technical implications
- Experience building secure SDKs or working on developer platforms
