Software Engineer II - Benchmark Infrastructure

Job Summary
Design, develop and maintain our competitive analysis benchmarking service. Collaborate with your team globally in a fast-paced environment, focusing on design, coding and PR reviews with minimal meeting time. Articulate ideas in writing across Slack, GitHub PRs, and design documents. Provide exceptional internal support to engineers, sales, and marketing. Core skills include Java development; Kubernetes; infrastructure as code with Pulumi/Terraform; AWS infrastructure; and benchmarking tooling for cross-cloud deployments involving Trino and related data analytics products. This role is based in Warsaw, Poland, or India, and involves working on Kubernetes deployments, the Trino benchmarking driver, and multi-cloud deployments within Starburst’s benchmark infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Software development experience with Java
- At least 2 years of experience developing infrastructure as code like Pulumi / Terraform
- At least 2 years of experience developing infrastructure with Kubernetes
- At least 2 years of experience with creating/managing AWS infrastructure
- Appreciation for creating maintainable and high quality software as part of a fun, high-performing global team
- Intrinsic motivation for improving software engineering craftsmanship
- Demonstration of ownership, grit, and bias for action
