Job Summary
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based backend systems powering native mobile applications within a cross-functional team. Optimize these systems for performance, reliability, and scalability while ensuring high quality standards through design reviews, code reviews, and maintaining comprehensive tests. Document systems for future maintainability and serve in an on-call rotation as a first responder for team-owned software. This role supports SimpliSafe's mission of keeping every home secure in a hybrid environment, focusing on building deep empathy for customers and driving innovation in the home security space.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science (or a related field) and/or relevant work experience
- Experience with at least 1 major programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Java, Go, Python, C# etc.), and comfortable being on a team that utilizes multiple languages
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban)
- Familiarity with DevOps principles
- A sense of ownership and accountability
- Passion for software development, continuous learning and a growth mindset
