Job Summary
Software Engineer I responsible for performing complex research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The role involves extracting, loading, cleansing, translating, manipulating, analyzing, linking and indexing large data sets, collaborating with internal stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a product experience that meets customer expectations. Key activities include reviewing requirements for moderate-complexity components, testing new development and bug fixes, translating product requirements into testing procedures, operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall), resolving technical issues, staying current with new technologies, contributing to code design and changes, and being accountable for testing procedures. Requires a BS in Engineering/Computer Science, 3 years of programming experience (Java, C++, C#), familiarity with Github, databases (Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server), UNIX (shell scripting, awk), and knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methodologies; additional upside for Python, cloud DevOps, and Azure Cloud experience. Required Qualifications
- Education: BS Engineering/Computer Science experience required
- 3 years experiences in programming languages - Java, C++, C#
- 1-2 years’ experience using Github
- 2 years’ experience on any database – Oracle, MySQL or SQL server
- 2 years’ experience on UNIX operating systems (includes shell scripting, awk scripting)
- Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Any experience with data is a plus
- Familiarity with Python
- Any experience with cloud DevOps is a plus
- Any exposure to Azure Cloud is a plus
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows
