Job Summary
Software Engineer responsible for building and maintaining a real-time data platform. Roles include working across distributed systems and infrastructure, building column encryption, launching the analytics portal, and implementing schema change alerts. Responsibilities also include creating tooling to automate infrastructure workloads, improving data pipeline efficiency by balancing virtual memory and disk usage, and developing native CDC connectors to additional data sources. The candidate should have a strong CS foundation, prefer pragmatic problem-solving over perfection, be comfortable jumping across the stack, and participate actively in defining the next-gen data platform that uses stream processing and CDC to minimize data latency. Tech stack includes Go, TypeScript (React), Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, gRPC, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, on AWS/GCP. Visa sponsorship is available. In-person work five days a week in San Francisco’s Financial District.
Required Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in computer science
- Experience with distributed systems
- Proficiency with Go is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with gRPC, Kafka, Kubernetes, Helm preferred but not required
- Willing to work in-person in San Francisco, CA
- Experience with data platforms and CDC connectors is a plus
