Job Summary
Develop and modify software for the US Army's Mobile Tactical Cannon Program, including firmware integration into the System Integration Laboratory. Lead software safety implementation and systems-security engineering efforts alongside the HDUSA platform cyber security team. Participate in verification and validation planning for ballistic solutions, timing analysis, and software integration tests. Collaborate with government customers and subcontractors on technical interchange meetings and Milestone Reviews. Identify technical risks in software development and integration to support mitigation planning. Travel to customer sites, partner facilities, and test ranges as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Direct professional experience developing or delivering ground vehicle or aerospace software solutions.
- Extensive experience on taking ownership of the whole Software cycle: writing Software requirements, code, CSCI/Unit tests and supporting SW/System integration.
- Experience developing environments incorporating Tools such as Python, RHEL (and open equivalents such as Rocky Linux), KVM and VMWare.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, technical standards, and software development regulations.
- Proficiency in embedded software development environments, real‐time operating systems, and common development toolchains.
- Experience leading teams in the deployment of digital engineering or MBSE tools and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex software and system behaviors in clear technical terms.
- Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work on U.S. artillery systems.
- Desirable experience in developing Software using GitLab.
- Desirable experience in developing Software running on both Windows and Linux.
- Desirable experience in developing Software running in a System with strong Security, Safety, and Human Factors Engineering requirements.
- Desirable experience IP Networking/VLANs.
- Desirable experience with systems like AFATDS.
- Successful experience delivering software solutions within the ground combat vehicle or aerospace domains.
- Proven ability to develop and mature software engineering tools and processes in a growing and challenging environment.
- Experience with ground combat vehicle mission systems, vetronics, or integrated weapon subsystems.
- Background in digital thread/digital twin environments or model‐based software development.
- Experience supporting major defense acquisition programs or large‐scale software integrations.
