Job Summary
Mid-level Java engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale FX trading platforms. Responsibilities include close collaboration with architects and team members to develop complex applications for FX engineering; design, development, and support of trading venues and related services; ongoing support and development of cloud services; building automated processes to prevent, identify, and resolve issues impacting service availability; identifying and contributing to improvements across cost, security, usability, and reliability; actively learning and adopting new technologies, tools, and practices including AI-assisted development; and working within a globally distributed team to deliver on commitments. Required skills include strong Java programming, solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, concurrency and performance optimization, memory management, profiling and performance analysis, familiarity with libraries for low-latency/high-performance apps, experience with cloud technologies, SQL/NoSQL, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning in a trading/finance context.
Required Qualifications
- Strong Java programming skills with experience writing clean, maintainable code
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Working knowledge of concurrency and performance optimization
- Familiarity with profiling and performance analysis tools
- Exposure to libraries and frameworks used in low-latency or high-performance applications
- Experience with modern agile development methodologies
- Exposure to DevOps practices, including automation of software testing, delivery, and infrastructure changes
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a globally distributed team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate technical issues across multiple technologies with guidance from senior engineers
