Job Summary
Own backend-heavy full-stack systems powering AI infrastructure products, including evolution of billing and usage tracking systems and integration of payments infrastructure using modern APIs. Design and ship developer-facing APIs and workflows while building highly scalable containerized infrastructure systems with Docker and orchestration tools. Partner across product and engineering to shape platform direction, improve authentication and access control, and contribute to system scalability and reliability. Work deeply on distributed infrastructure and developer platform workflows to help define engineering patterns across a rapidly scaling platform.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience in full-stack or backend-heavy engineering roles
- Experience at high-growth startups or strong product engineering companies
- Hands-on builder mentality
- Strong TypeScript proficiency
- Strong Docker/containerization experience
- Strong systems reasoning ability
- Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
- Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 4 days/week onsite)
- Visa: No visa sponsorship (transfers may be considered for exceptional candidates)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Stripe or modern payments infrastructure
- Experience building developer tooling platforms
- Background in infrastructure-heavy product engineering
- Experience with Kubernetes or distributed systems
- Authentication / identity systems experience
- Experience scaling usage-based billing systems
- Prior startup experience from Series B–D companies
- Experience shipping production AI-adjacent systems
- Experience with billing / payments systems preferred
