Job Summary
Build state-of-the-art mobile and desktop web software applications and systems while implementing features and user interfaces to optimize performance. Follow high-quality design and implementation practices, contributing to shared libraries and systems to uphold rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality. Log and analyze operational and engagement metrics, utilizing AI tools and high-velocity workflows to design and ship scalable services. Optimize JavaScript performance and browser layout rendering, auditing generated output for architectural integrity and security risks. This Full Stack Engineer role supports Snap's engineering culture, working on products that reach hundreds of millions of users daily. The team practices a "default together" approach, expecting office presence four or more days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
- 2+ years of post-Bachelor's software development experience
- Master's degree in a technical field
- 1+ year of post-grad software development experience
- PhD in a relevant technical field
- Experience with full stack web development
Desired Qualifications
- MS degree in a technical field
- Experience with WebGL, Canvas, WebAssembly, Service workers, or other advanced front-end technology
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with large-scale microservices and distributed systems
- Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services
- Ability to identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
